The stories of Armbrae Academy, told in 18 minutes and 87 seconds.
Founded in 1887, Armbrae is a small independent school located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the East Coast of Canada. But it’s not just the history we want to share; as rich as that is. This season intertwines the voices of students with alumni and faculty to share Armbrae’s academic, community and student approach. The perspectives balance both new and old ideas, embracing our current situation of extraordinary change.
With the pandemic, the typical forms of fundraising were less possible for a school like Armbrae where they were suddenly unable to see many families, students, funders, etc. in person. The opportunity then arose to use a podcast as a means to connect with current families, alumni, teachers, and the community as a whole by sharing stories from those with connections to the school.
Keeping the school’s community engaged in a time when many couldn’t be together in person is pivotal for an education institution. With the launch of the podcast we were able to highlight stories that would have gone overlooked even with more typical in-person fundraising events. Listeners now have the ability to get insights from Armbrae that they may have not had prior.
